    Singapore GP starts recruitment for 2009 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

    Race promoter Singapore GP Pte Ltd (SGP) will be recruiting nearly 200 temporary staff to help host the upcoming 2009 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX from 2 August 2009.

    Available positions include Porters, Buggy Drivers, Lift Operators, Circuit Park Transport Coordinators, Accreditation Supervisors and Artiste Coordinators.

    This recruitment is in addition to the 1,000 Institute of Technical Education (ITE) students who will be hired as Access Control Officials, Customer Service Officers and Information Ambassadors under the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the ITE to jointly train and offer work experience to ITE students.

    Candidates should have a friendly disposition, display maturity, be able to think on their feet and always be willing to deliver above expectations.

    Rahmat Hashim, 39, is definitely coming back to this year’s after serving as Access Control Supervisor at the inaugural event last year. “Last year, I was on duty at the Marina Grandstand. The work over the entire race weekend was tough and definitely no walk in the park. As a Singaporean, I really felt proud to have been part of all this and to have contributed to this important national project. If you like working as part of an energetic team this event is for you ’’ said Rahmat, who will be promoted to be a Zone Manager this year.

    According to Ms. Sarah Martin, Director of Operations for Singapore GP, expectations from patrons will be high. “Last year’s success was a result of a great crew that helped make the Singapore Grand Prix a jewel in the FORMULA ONE crown. Staff can walk away with a great sense of satisfaction and experience a world-class event on our home-ground.”
